98 kx, what can i do to smooth out the bottom end?

i know someone asked this question not that long ago but i couldnt find that post anywhere. so what could i do so its not so snappy? could i do anything with the timing or with flywheel weight? i dont own the bike yet, i thinking about buying it off my friend. i currently ride a 91 cr 125, i just need to make some adjustments until i get used to the power difference. i had a 95 atk 260 lq for awhile, i only rode it twice i think, the bottom end seemed really harsh to me and i wrecked pretty bad because of it. i ended up selling it because i needed money for my car. but ever sine that wreck i have been a little scared of riding a 250. the only reason im thinking about buying it is because i want a newer bike and i know the owner has taken good care of it. sorry so long.
