98' RM 250 has less hp than 97'!?!

I was just reading specs on the 98' RM 250, and it says 40hp compared to 51hp of the 1997... What gives here? Did they switch to a different hp rating system or something? I dont see why they would produce a newer model with less hp than the previous. :coocoo:

97 might be measured at the crank, 98 might be measured at the rear wheel.
Just a guess.

Where did you get the 51 hp on the 97??? I don't believe that number.
