Eric G. recommened that I put a '99 jug on my '94 CR 250 as he said it has better porting/exchanges etc. They have different part #'s and I could not get a response back from EG to see if that was correct. Where could I figure this out? :coocoo:

I believe you can swap cylinders between any 1992 through 2001 CR250. The part # will be different as porting varies from year to year.

The '99 with stock porting is an excellent cylinder for most riders.

You should ask Eric or do some research to figure out which piston and cylinder head to run.

99CR jug

Eric recommended that I put a new 99 CR cylinder on my 94 for better porting etc. Do I need a 99 head? I know there are two pistons and two cylinders for that year....

Thanks

All you need to worry about matching is the head and the piston. The '94 head uses a domed piston, while the '99 head uses a flat top. Either head will bolt onto a '99 cylinder.
