If I install the Cometic .012 (half thickness) base gasket on my 1999 CR125 to increase bottom-end, this will effectively increase compression correct? Currently I use 93 octane pump gas. Should I use 100 octane pump "race" gas? There's a Mobil station that has this stuff. I wasn't sure if the increase in comp. would require higher octane fuel.

Yes, it will increase the compression, and it might require higher octane gas afterward. There have been a lot of posts about race gas on this board, use the search function and have alook at them. You will learn a lot from them, I did!

I would use caution using that high octane pump gas because it doesn't sell as much as say regular octane and sits in the storrage tanks there longer before it gets replenished with a fresh supply. There are only a few premium gas pumps here that give out good gas.
