'99 KDX 200 gas cap

Where's the best place to get a gas cap for my '99 KDX 200? I just bought it used and the gas cap is cracked. What exactly causes this? How much do these go for?

Actually, the dealers in my area, especially Kawasaki, seem to charge alot for parts. I was hoping to find someone online who discounts parts. For example, www.servicehonda.com has decent discounts for Honda parts.

I always use http://www.honda-kawasaki.com/

Look part up at www.buykawasaki.com then go to above for a quote. Consistentley ~30% cheaper than local (mine anyway). Plus mine dishes a lot of attitude for small orders. So... they don't get the big one's either!

They crack from being overtightened.. It's one of those things that most KDX riders either hear about or learn on thier own.. I think the cap is around $17 or so..

Just bought one.

I cracked the vent tube mount and I think I payed around $16.00 bucks for it at the dealer.

If you want to try something with a little different look, get a cap from a 2000-2001 Kx125/250

I have used Midwest Action Cycle from Wisconsin and have had good service and I don't have to deal with the local airheads at the dealer. Look for their add in all the dirt bike mags.

If you want a trick gas cap that want crack, Try a BBR billet gas cap. It's over double the cost of factory, but looks trick.
