How does the advancement system work for MX and Harescrambles in D17?
Is it pretty much up to the promotors or the Dorectors or is there a system? Like average finishes or wins per events?

advancement is in the rule book, but also has director and club/track input.
mx has an average per race type deal.

now MX in 2005 will be regulated by AMA, then they handle it. we of course will have final say in our organized districts, but now non-organized districts will be advanced under the same system as everyone else.

ps the ama rules and stuff will be posted and in the febuary AM mag.

I got a letter from Jay Hall last week informing me that I've been advanced to the A class in Harescrambles.
I'm starting on the front row.

Thanks, I went for a few laps around our slick and muddy woods loop yesturday and I was thinking "What was Jay thinking? I suck" then I started to kind of keep up with Don and started to feel better about being "fast".
A couple of years ago I wouldn't even have considered going yesturday, butt we did and had fun.
I had some pretty good races last year, so getting the letter didn't realy surprise me.
It's kind of cool, butt next year will be interesting.
