just got a kawasaki 2 stroke 250 been riding for a lil bit not long though but am interested in mx and i wanna know some pointers for conquering my first jump i keep wanting to back away from jumping the bike any pointers or tips please

Before you look at jumping... learn how to corner. The fastest way around a track is through the corners. If you can get your cornering down very well then you will have a good idea of the body position you need to control the bike on the ground and then starting to jump will be easier.

Learn proper body positioning and start small. Jumping has a huge penalty for doing it wrong. You can endanger yourself and others around you.

Table top type jumps are pretty safe to start with IMO. The more riding experience you have, the more natural jumps should come to you.
