I use the house insulation all the time. Never had any issues using it. No difference between that and the FMF stuff, IMO.

I've been using the house insulation in my 250's for a long time. I change it often and it has worked well. I put some in my mod LT500 silencer.... after one weekend of riding, there was no packing left whatsoever, it all blew out. I repacked it again, and it was all gone after about five hours. I then switched to some of the FMF packing and it is still in there after two rides so I guess that I'll have to pop for the expensive stuff on that bike. The pressure waves in that silencer must just obliterate the packing I guess.
