No way can I explain it... I can post the outdoor MX Class data:
MX Lites = 100-144cc 2-Stroke/126-250cc 4-Stroke
Motocross Class = 145-250cc 2-Stroke/251-450cc 4-Stroke
*The 144cc can only run the MX Lites Mod Class (among others)
**According to class cc limits the 250F cannot run the Motocrosss class, overbore to 251+ it can run the Motocross "MOD" class as it is no longer a stock machine.
*** Each class has a "stock" and "mod" group. Note you can bore a 125 2t and run MX Lites Mod however, in this class you cannot bore the 250F as over bore 250F will put you in the Motocross Mod Class (being a bored virgin it will be considered a mod bike)

Many outlaw tracks allow the 250F as well as 144-2T to run the Motocross class... according to AMA rules this is not legal racing but does increase track owner revenue. This would be a topic for another post as I feel many 125/250F riders would defeat their clone on the 250/450F

For sake of short post the SX lites is 250F... someone else will need to acknowledge for fact that these machines can be bored and modified beyond your/our wildest dreams.

im not going to get technical, but here's the basic format: the 250 class consists of: 251cc-450cc 2T and 4T. the 125( lites) class consists of: 100cc-250cc 2T and 4T. like i said, the SX lites is the 125 class

no

MX/SX lites (pros, anyhow): up to 125cc two stroke, up to 250cc 4 stroke

MX/SX (again, pros): up to 250cc two stroke, up to 450cc 4-stroke

it's really that simple

I see, so it still possible to race a 2 stroke if you want to but most people are choosing to ride the 4 stroke due to the displacement advantage. I thought that you couldnt race 2 strokes at all anymore because they are banning them or whatever because of the green house effect or something like that. Some kid told me this at school. That is why they stopped making 2 strokes right? because they are polluting the air?

Pred... simple is good, correct is better
MX Lites = 100-144cc 2-Stroke/126-250cc 4-Stroke
Motocross Class = 145-250cc 2-Stroke/251-450cc 4-Stroke
Not to confuse... outdoor MX breaks these two classes into "stock" & "mod" Should you be planning a 144 gotta be mod class... for you 250F fellows download the AMA rule book.

Why do you say 4t and 2t?

Wouldn't you say 4s or 2s?

I don't understand.
