After 4 years and 2 YZF 's , I'm back into 2-strokes. Got a new YZ 250 and I love it. I always used 100-1 amsoil with great results but when i finally ran out, i was told by an amsoil dealer that the new 50-1 oil was better. I didn't get an explanation. Anybody out there using this? Are there any amsoil retailers that sell for less? What is wc-3 protection? Thanks from this 1st-time poster.

the 100:1 is the old school amsoil that's great for weedeaters, outboards and such. The 50:1 would be the Series 2000 racing oil and it's a much better option than the other stuff. I used the series 2000 at 32:1 with race gas in my 02cr and had no carbon deposits. It's a good oil.

Can anyone confirm if the Series 2000 is being discontinued/superceded. It's no longer linked directly on the Amsoil site, and furthermore an Amsoil rep who offered to supply me with oil at bulk discount could not find the Series 2000 2-cycle Racing Oil listed. My dealer still has it on the shelves but I'm wondering for how much longer. To my (admittedly) untrained eye, their 'Dominator' oil appears to have inferior specs to the Series 2000..?
