2) fairly aggressive
3) mostly trail riding, some trac
4) I ride a vstar 1100 road bike
5) no race plans
6) not very mechanically inclined
7) I'd like a 200-250, not sure about 2 or 4 stroke
8) yes, have a dealer near by
9) have to spend less than $2K
10) Live in MO
11) 34 yo

Here are a couple I'm looking at on craigslist

Keep in mind that not being mechanically inclined will cost you money...especially on a CRF250, which is a very high maintenance 4 stroke. The KDX would make you a good trail bike, but 2 strokes need a top end rebuild ever so often. Most shops around here get about $70-$90 per hour. If you want a change the oil and forget it kind of bike, buy an XR400, I own one and they are good trail bikes. By the way, a CRF250R is a MX bike, the 250X is the trail version. The KX is also a motocross bike, but the 2 strokes can be fitted with a woods pipe that will help on the trail. You may want to search this site about trail vs MX and pros and cons of different bikes.
