I have a 1991 KDX200E3, love it.
I have just re-sprung the front forks. There is alittle spring about 2 inches long, same diameter as the main spring, that sits over the dampener rod at the base of the shock. What does this little spring do ??
It looks like it is the stop for the fork at the bottom of its stroke, however I can't see how it would work.

I think that is the 'top-out' spring. It's function is to prevent a harsh clang as the forks are extended to the maximum.
