Yes, you have to bleed it before regassing it. Make the thing to go in the compression adjuster. Adjust the rebound adjuster to full soft (usually you do that before the gas comes out). Put the plug with the hose in the adjuster hole then you can fill the shock and stroke the shaft - slowly in and fast out, till you have no more bubbles coming out. Move the shock body around and tap on the body with a hammer to free any bubbles that might be trapped. Take your time as it is very important to get all the bubbles out. Once you have no more bubbles comng out and the shaft strokes smothly put some air in the bladder - about 15psi or 1 bar - be careful as you can squirt oil everywhere. Tap around the shock while rotating and tipping it to get any more bubbles out. Release the air, tap around the shock, refill the air, tap, release as many times as needed. When you are happy that you have the bubbles out put the compression adjuster in a bag of oil making sure to get all cavities filled. Pull the shaft out all the way out, release the air, and remove the plug, keep the adjuster cavity highest and filled with oil at all times. Replace the adjuster and put some air in the bladder - about 45 psi or 3 bar. Turn the shock so the shaft is up and carefully stroke the shaft through full travel - if there is any air left in the shock you will feel it when the shaft comes fully out. If you feel air you need to bleed it some more. If no air take it to the shop and get them to charge it with nitrogen to at least 142 psi or 10 bar, but no more than 175 psi or 13 bar. Make sure the shock strokes smoothly and returns all the way out. Adjust the rebound and make sure it has clicks and there is a noticable effect. Replace the spring and set the clickers and have a cold one - you're done with that part of the rebuilding !!
