wondering if the carb is working better this year and how the power characterisitics of the motor compare with 03...

Thanks!

Carb isn't that hard to jet...Niether was the 03'...It just was a little off for some in different locations...

04' motor isn't really different from the 03'...The 04' CR250R still pulls really hard from the mid into the top end...

Beginners still need to go and get a Yamaha so they can let that bottom end get them through the corners at a decent pace.

Actually...If you look at the dyno charts the 04' is down a little over 1 hp from the 03' on top.

Do you think a one hp difference is due to design changes, or could that small amount be a production tolerance???? I have always wondered how the tolerances would change from bike to bike.

There could be a number of variables.

Tolerances, Jetting, Atmospheric temps, Fuel, Oil, Dyno, time on bike, etc.... there are quite a few.

Yup....Every bike is a little different and different dynos can yield different results as well as atmospheric conditions...But after seeing a dyno chart of the 04' it confirmed my belief after riding that the 04' was a tad weaker on top..The 03' pulls harder in the upper mid to top end..You still can't be lazy on the 04'...
