Found out this week that I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I don't think my case is that bad, but I'm going to start learning about it and probably start swimming and take up Yoga. Anyone here have it or have knowledge that can be of any help? Will glucosamine help?

hey there;

my dad's mom and my wife's mom both are plagued with this, and there are 4 things that i know really help, though they have tried many prescriptions, diets, etc, these 4 rein supreme so far:
1. paul harvey's remedy, which is to soak white raisins in cheap gin for ~3 days, then eat 3 raisins per day. no joke.

3. drink milk daily ---this one is a golden rule.
4. the equine version of Absorbine topical liquid ---this is a product for horses, and they make a watered-down version for humans, but u might as well water it down yourself and save some dough...works very well, but is only temporary, ie, it iwll not rebuild your joint's cushion, but merely reduce its swelling. very, very, effective at that! for our horses/us, we wrap an ace bandage around the joint, then pour the Absorbine on it, soaking it.

good luck, and keep hunting...

Yes, I believe glucosamine will help. I am a strong believer in homeopathic solutions. My knees were quite bad, but are now fine. I am doing more than the glucosamine, but my sloution will likely be different than yours. Diet has a strong effect. Most importantly, IMO, is to find the cause as I believe that arthritis is a symptom with many causes.

I am lucky to have met a very good homeopathic guru who I have complete faith in- I won't tell what all she has done for me because you would scoff, but I believe. Find the cause-diet may be the solution.

Try MSM (MEthylSulfonylMethane?) Remember Charles Grodin he said that he couldnt even pick up a pencil and write his name but he started taking MSM 3000mg a day and he had no pain in a short couple of weeks. I have taken it every day for at least three years and I have a lot less pain than I used to... I think it is important to find the Natures way brand I think and find the 1000mg capsules those are the ones I take... When it is packaged with the glucosamine they only put like 200mg in there... I take 2000 or 3000mg MSM only per day. I give it to my 3 legged dog and she does way better with it (1000mg per day). I think she is 12 now and she can walk a lot more when I give it to her.

If you look up the web site of Dr. Gabe Mirkin (drmirkin.com), he has a treatment of antibiotics that cures Rhematoid arthritis. The problem is finding a doctor who will prescribe them, because they don't yet belive that it is caused by an infectious agent that causes ones immune system to go into overdrive and attack your own joints. Good luck.

Several folks, mostly horse people, have recently recommended glucosamine to me for my back and knees. After TONS of research on the net I selected the Now liquid glucosamine/chondroitin/msm mix. Got it cheap from bodybuilding.com. Best price, fast delivery. Been taking it almost 2 weeks and already seeing results. I'm a believer. :)
