Talked to my dealer today and he said, KTM is going to build this model!
I love my 02-200 EXC and think it will be just what I am looking for in a
MX scooter.

The KTM team actually raced one of these in the 250 class. Cannot remember who or what race. Basically the 200 motor with the 125sx chassis/suspension. (125&200 share the same frame)

There are rumours of KTM making these bikes for joe soap.

Brock Sellards raced it in the US Open, if I recall correctly he finished in 5th or so (not bad for an UN-overly successful 125 rider)

Cam, I know Brock raced one in the US open. I don't remember how he finished.

This will be interesting to see how it develops with the rumored 250 RFS in the works. Development costs would be pretty low, being that it would basically be a 125 with a bigger jug, maybe longer rod, and a few odds and ends. Although it would not be legal in the 125 class, it would still seem to almost fit the same niche as the 250 RFS in that it's basically a 125 with more breadth to the powerband. And the future seems to be going towards valves and cams. For vets it could be a tough choice.

Perhaps some marketing buffs could shed some more light on this.

If they can make it weigh 205lbs, it shouldn't be too tough of a choice. :)

It will weigh the same as a 125SX, possibly a few ounces more. Keep in mind that the 125 & 200 cases are identical. The 200 has a bigger piston/longer rod, bigger jug. But the 125 also has less flywheel than the 200 but for mx/sx the 200 flywheel will be reduced and all the other parts like headlight, bigger tank etc will be thrown out the window. So at the end of the day I reckon they will weigh the same.

MXFastGuy: I think your right... The gentleman who developed the 400/520 and was working on the 250RFS was killed over a year ago at one of the Rallys, so there 250 maybe a little slow in coming out... I think the 200SX will make a killer Vet/SR bike for me (43-Ugly and slow).

I put my 200 mxc motor in my 02 125 sx chassis a while back so I guess I have an 02 200sx. Way mo fun.
