I wish.. I burned the piss outta my arm on my last session at Redmud last week.. Some idiot crashed in front of me, cause me to crash on top of his bike. Layed my wrist on his pipe. Ouch! Won't be riding until this heals up a little.
I got that rain right now. Supposed to keep goin all night. I'm watchin the news now, so we'll see. I'm loaded and ready to ride in the morning, gonne be muddy  .
C'man, have some confidence. Get the manual and book and study on jetting here. You know that "to give a man a fish" saying? That was aimed at jetting :) .
Start spinning wrenches, and follow the manual. A torque wrench is a great invest investment for a beginner. Sears (craftsman) has some fairly cheap, but I wouldn't recommend goin any cheaper. Tools are much better investments than any bolt-on go-fast crap. For a beginner who has a lot of riding time, it's hard enough to keep em' goin.
Anyway, if you still need some motivation, others will be by to kick you in the butt :nener: .
c'man- if you Google jetting 101 you'll come up with a whole bunch of interesting stuff.
A few more generally oriented articles to bring you up to speed while you wait for your manual:
I'll leave it up to others to let you know if those are complete crap. But, I'd recommend as Joe said spending some time using the forum search engine or googling.
Using the DRN forum search try these keywords alone or in combination: spooge, jetting, cr250r. You can also used the advanced search and try combining a keyword with a particular poster from this forum who shows exceptional knowledge. Some of those names are recommended within the threads I've attached.
Also, when you search don't be afraid to look at older posts, or posts with lots of hits, which sometimes indicates that others are looking at this information for solutions to problems like yours. You can also use the advanced search to change the sort preference to "relevancy". Otherwise the search engine default is going to throw them at you by "recentness" not "bestest".
You won't even have to wait for people to reply if you use the search engines and do some reading on your own before asking for the "shortcut". You also won't have to hear the same reply over and over either: "do a search".... (Although, you may or may not get your butt chewed out so much! No promises there.)
Incidentally, if you want to spend a day with the really smart guys and want it to truly pay off, gain as much knowledge as you can. Then you can ask even better questions.
Kind of silly asking Michelangelo how to paint by numbers, right?
