Action Alert -- Texas Motorized Recreation Program Bill goes to Governor Perry

Legislation which would create an off-highway vehicle trail and recreation area program in the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has passed both chambers of the state legislature and will soon be before Gov. Rick Perry (R).
Under Senate bill 1311, introduced by Sen. Juan Hinojosa (D-Edinburg), the state would create and maintain public motorized trails and recreation areas and promote the responsible use of off-highway vehicles. To ride on any of the motorized trails established or maintained by Texas Parks and Wildlife, a rider would have to pay an annual registration fee and display a registration decal on the rider’s vehicle.
