Before you do, make sure the video camera is supported well and that there is plenty of battery power. Or else make sure you have a competent operator of the camera, as we wouldn't want to miss any of the action..

Also, test for the sound quality at the site, so that we also don't miss any of the sound. Makes for a much better video that way.

I'd also have an ambulance crew standing by, sometimes waiting for them to show up can really suck.

I wouldnt go for it unless you have a foam pit of your own or your buddy has one or something that you could practice the trick regularly for months on end. I would say after about a year of being to nail it in the pit no problem you could go for it. maybe have some sort of real soft dirt for your landing as well. but i would just decide to go for it one day. Id also have every other single trick naild before I went for the backflip also.
