Elk, this is REALLY a Support Team! Okie is not the only one that gains from this, I really appreciate everyone myself and threads like this continuely remind me of the generosity. Have a great Fathers Day.
Wow Elk, you'll do anything for attention, won't you? Even sponge off your daughter's publicity. :D
Seriously though, I am glad things worked out for you and the daughter. I'm sure this father's day was pretty special in the Elk house. We will continue with her in thoughts and prayers that this never need happen again.
Elk, I just today saw this thread. I myself have four kids and know the anguish when one of them is ill. I'm glad for you and your entire family that everything worked out so well. Count your blessings!
I would like to ask though, what was the meaning of this statement?

Elk, man, I'm glad everything came out well for you and your daughter! I don't even pretend to understand the gut check it must be to have someting like like this happen to a family member. I think you must be a great dad, who else would be able to make his daughter laugh when she was hurting!. Really I have nothing smartalk to say, just glas things are going well.
PS I woulda responded ealier but I've been away.
Best wishes for you and your daughter, Elk. I know firsthand how scary that is--I had a cervical cancer scare 3 years ago. I can only imagine how frightened my mom and stepdad were. That's wonderful everything turned out ok for you.
Elk
Glad to hear everything is O.K. As a parent I know the anguish you & Mrs. Elk has been through. Two years ago Josh was having migraine headaches so we took him to the doctor to see about it. They ordered a CAT scan and found he had a spot in the middle of his brain they were concerned about. Needless to say me and the Mrs. were very worried. After seeing a specialists it turns out that his pineal gland was starting to calcify, this happens normally as you get older but he was only 7 and it raised some concerns. Thankfully everything is O.K. and he gets chek ups every year & is doing fine. They think he just is the less than 1% of children who mature fast and that's whats going on. No growth or Nuerological problems and turns out this has nothing to do with his headaches. It is what regulates sleep and as you get older it turns into a little rock in your head that's why older people sleep less. Once again I glad to hear you can look foward to sharing precious moments with your daughter. Count every day as a blessing.
