What symtom would a bent needle give?

My bike has been, for lack of better words, blubbering from mid to WFO. Off bottom seems to be pretty good, just lost what I would call over rev. I discovered today when I was going to adj the needle clip position that the needle is bent, would this create my problem? Also wonder how the needle got bent in the 1st place.

The needle is bent on my dads cr250 but it dosnt seem to change anything. I bent it trying to get the slide back into the carb w/ the gas tank in the way.

Jeff.

Yes, a bent needle can cause a mid range blubber. They normally get bent when you R&R the slide. Especially when it is hard to get the slide out between the carb and the frame rails. They are very easy to bend.

Best way is to remove the carb completly or if there is enough room, twist it in the manifold so that you have a clear shot at installing the slide without having to fumble around the frame, cables, hoses, etc.
