BEST 250 Motors Ever

I had a 88 RM250 and am comparing it to my 05 250sx. The rm was quick, zippy, etc. Compared to the 250sx which will loop out if you are'nt careful. The 250sx reminds me more of the 83 cr480 than the 88 rm. Very smooth but you have to watch the amount of power it has.

I really liked both motors, and still think the 88 rm is one of my all time favorite bikes. Loved the suspension but never could get my jetting dialed.

Lighter flywheel = quicker revving. I believe the 88 rm had a little more power and a lighter flywheel vs the 87 model.

I have heard alot about the 01-07 yz 250 motors but have'nt ridden one. I did have a guy offer to trade his 05 yz250 for my 05 250sx a couple weeks ago. I honestly can't imagine a better motor than my ktm, but who knows ? The thing is a rocket, but is'nt pipey at all. With ktm, ya have to get the suspension setup, but i already did that.

KX 250, I had an 02 and man would that thing pour it on, I just love the way it pulled and pulled and pulled almost seemed to have endless pull up top, tons of power, somewhat soft on the bottom which I like for my style on jumps. I will have another one, probably 03 or newer though.

My 04 ktm 250sx with the Pc pipe.Its faster than the yz,kx (87 rm 250),and cr250s i use to own.Its the fastest 250 mx bike you can buy outside of the pricey and hard to find Tms.No problem running with the 4 strokes.As long as the track is tacky and i have traction,its in the hunt.

hey i would say 89-96 cr 250r they can really climb and the bike screams i liked the smaller frames and not the big aluminum frames to

in my mind you cant go past the kdx250,
they were only made for a few years, but with the rite jetting setup its got very good tractable power down low and a pretty good top end, with a powerband that dosent hit quite as hard as the MX bikes of the same era. the suspension requires a bit of setup, and the size of the tank is grate!
overall; an enduro wepon!
