Trendy or Cheap??

Hey man I live just outside of L.A. to the north but I would have to say the HOT place to go is to Chapparal all the way, one of the biggest Motorcycle accessory retailer in the nation, it's in Ontario just go to chapparal-racing.com, I think, if it's not right do a search, The place is HUGE if it isn't in their store it probably isn't a good brand, or you can order it. Another good place is www.btosports.com they have some pretty good deals especially on top end kits but I think they have gear too, take it easy and have fun

Don't go nor give business to Krapparal, unless you want to try on the sizes for ordering it cheaper elsewhere. I was recently in there to buy a product, showed them their internet special price. "Nope, we can't do that, but you can pay full retail." Phoey. I called the mail order side, they said I could pay full retail in the store, then walk around to the will call & pick it up. Phoey II. Then I called the mail order back from home, which they said "it's under $30, so shipping would be another $10" negating any savings. Phoey from now and forevermore.

I happened to be near Burt's last weekend, stopped in and they had it for the special price that Krapparal wouldn't/couldn't. Bought it no fuss.

Since you mentioned San Diego, and the places above would be quite a drive, try Golden West Cycle, 3755 Avocado Blvd., La Mesa, CA, 800-383-6776. I haven't been there, but they do advertise in the rags.

Cycle Parts West in San Diego is where I've always gotten all my gear. They're cheaper than any dealership in the area, just tell them what you're looking for and they'll put together a deal for you. Their phone number is 619-284-7617.

I'll put in a plug for Cycle City in Lake Forrest (I-5 at El Toro Road). It's about 1/2 way between LA and SD. It's a bit smaller than Chap-er-al, but they have pretty decent prices.

After my run ins with Crapandsmell, I'll never go back there again. I was also going to throw in Cycle City in Lake Forest but the woodster beat me to it. It's not a big shop but they do have some nice stuff and they're really not that much more dollar wise and they actually like your business!

Thanks! I've gotta cruise up to LA today and tomorrow, so I'll try the Lake Forest shop, Bert's and if worse comes to worse, Chaparral. Looks like a lot of gear is ideal for the warmer weather here in Cali, so I don't know how I'll fare back in Colorado:eek:

Whatever

Whatever man I swear you'll be in for a treat if you go to Chapparal, no one wants to admit it here because they are all loyal to their stores, but when September comes around and the annual parking lot sale starts I guarantee you they will be camping out there the night before...each and every one of them,

I stopped by Cycle City in Lake Forest first. Not a bad place, just didn't get much help there. Next I tried to find Bert's. I went up and down Azusa, but couldn't find it and I forgot the number.

Then I went to Chapparal's. Man, that place is huge! Certainly, I have never seen a place that big. The good side to that is the selection of stuff. Definetly a good place to check out goods in person. I wound up getting a helmet and goggles there, but I still need boots, pants, gloves and possibly shirt.
