Bike Parts Interchangeability

When looking for parts for my 87 KX500, alot of places only list parts for 88 and up bikes. Will the parts listed for a 88 KX 500 fit my 87? There can't be that much of a difference in the two bikes.

Unless 1988 was a complete redesign.
