Yeah it's boring in here. This 440 lady is waiting for her fresh mill which is only a UPS drop away for the new Wossner piston. In the meantime she's stipped to the bare nakedness that I like better. Of course her sister is a basket case 400 and stays away from the camera.

WOW!!!! That looks spectacular. You're doing an outstanding job.

That's a bike I knew intimately many years ago, that looks even better today. Well done

Rich and Vic Krause? Nice clean looking Magnum back in the day. My first Maico was a 77 that got roached by a kid who could not see past impressing girls

Yep, that's me and Vic at a little private track near his old shop back in the late 70s. We took the first 440 we got in house and tricked it out for an article Vic was writing for Modern Cycle. Look closely and you can see the Mikuni on it.

This was the photo shoot day. Vic did all the riding on the new 440 that day but I got to burn laps on a tricked out coffin tank Maico 400 so I wasn't disappointed.

That 440 was the best bike I had ever ridden at the time. Might still be :)

 I feel the same way about the only Maico I ever rode - an '82 490 Sand Spider.

That motor was magic and is still the one by which I compare all others.

So user friendly and yet so powerful.
