Howdy Strick!

Are we going to be able to safely store our bikes again at the Rick's Plumbing shop (?) as we've done in past years?

That's been a huge convenience and peace of mind! :thumb:

Thanks! - RandyB

Yep, thanks to a good friend of mine that owns Paul's Plumbing, we have indoor storage (for free) once again.

I think he may even be riding with us one day. He is one of those sickeningly FAST desert guys. He is one great human being!

That's great! Is there anything that we can do individually, or as a group, to show our thanks?

Open to any ideas... - rb

In past years, Strick (or Rick) has met us at the Plumbing shop during a certain time frame to pick up or drop off bikes on a daily basis. It's extra effort for Strick - but if we are vigilant about hitting at the right time - it works okay.

Correct, Mr. Strick?

Yes, you can store the bikes for one night or more.

E-ticket has it right. What seems to work the best is for everyone to meet me at a given time, say 6:00pm at the storage location for drop off, and 8-9am in the morning. This may seem like a short day, but dinner is a 7-7:30 and hangovers prevent any earlier than 8-9am. Those desert whoops are going to kick you butt anyway, remember?

I will post directions on storage directions, Moonrocks directions, and Hotel directions (from the different freeways) soon. I will also ask in that thread for people to estimate there arrival time. I won't do that though until after I get back from Hawaii on the 26th.

I can also offer up my garage for storage if someone needs it or can't meet at Strick's times. I live between Moonrocks and I-80 off Pyramid Hwy so that might be an option for people camping but wanting to go to dinner and want to take their bikes back out that night. Let me know..

help with bike storage 2/16-2/22?

travelling from the Bay area, CA---I will be camping/riding at Moonrocks for the festivities Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. My wife will be riding on Friday. We both then leave, driving to Boise Idaho for the week beginning on Monday the 16th. We do not want to trailer our bikes all the way to Boise and back if there is no riding to be had in that area (the ride reports I've seen for Boise area are dismal at this time). We would like to leave our bikes and trailer in Reno/sparks while we are in Boise 2/16-2/22, picking them up on our way back through to Oakland area. Can anyone suggest or offer a safe place in Reno or Sparks to store 2 bikes (KTM 400 EXC and KX100) and a 3-bike flat trailer for the week. Some form of compensation or trade could be arranged.

If there is need I could also bring a '99 CR250 (with fly-wheel weight) for someone to ride...but would then need to store it as well.

Thanks, Pete and Steph Maguire

I will look into this a little further, but worse case you can store them at my place in my cycle trailer (locked up). We could just put the trailer beside my house.

Thanks again Strick! I'll watch this thread, or you can email me.

Bike Storage

Is it still a possibility to store two bikes Friday, Saturday and Sunday night?

We are planning to arrive from Oregon sometime Friday afternoon and if possible would meet you where ever is needed, at a set time based on your schedule.

If not, no problem here. I was planning to rent a trailer to secure them and just need to make the arrangements.

Thanks in advance! :thumb:
