Y'all
I was wondering..........
I know two strokes scavenge exhaust back into the cylinder Right??
Well my pipe took a beating on the right side on the pipe where it is about the largest diameter and it cracked the metal so I brazed it up with brass brazing rod (not steel wire such as clothes hanger) because I dont have the $$ for a new pipe right now, My concern is that some brass might have melted thru the crack. If this comes off inside the pipe is it likely to go out the exhaust or be drawn back into the cylinder by scavenging? The bike is an 01 CR250

I don't think it would get sucked into the engine, but if you happen to lay the bike down, gravity may cause it to enter the engine. Hold the pipe vertical and gently tap on the pipe to try to knock any loose paticals out. Other then that, there's not much you can do but buy a new pipe.

I guess anything is possible, but I wouldn't be too worried.

I actually had the same situation on my old 01. I just welded welded the crack until I could afford a new pipe and didn't have any issues.
