Bottom End

Well I finally fried the piston rings today. I plan on getting a bottom end with the top end but dont know where to get a bottom end for a 1997 KDX 220. I've been looking but more than likely in the wrong places. Anything helps.

You can get an oem complete crank. Or a rod from wiseco or hotrod, or the oem rod. With the parts and labor to press the rod, should be way cheaper than the 400 dollar price tag on the complete crank.

I spent about $80 on a rod kit, $50 on the bearings/seals, and $75 in labor to rebuild the crank. Much cheaper than buying an OEM crank. Unfortunately there's no aftermarket crankshafts for the kdx's... :(

Now, when you say "hotrod", do you meen hot cams or what? I'm kinda new to this.

Ebay for your rod kit. There are some ebay stores selling wiseco and hotrods connecting rods at good prices.
