Break-in motor before porting ?

Is it o.k to send the cylinder off to EG to have it ported before you even start a brand new bike or should you do a full break-in procedure before having it ported?

You don't have to but you may want to ride it firts anyway so you know what changes you want to the power from porting.

The previous owner of my bike took it completely apart before he rode it and had 3000 worth of motor work done. I havent had any problems with it in 2 years.
