!!! We need 200 letters !!!!

!! ATTENTION OFF-ROAD RIDERS !!

It was made very clear at the B.C. Coalition of Motorcyclists Off-Road Night on December 1st that British Columbia is in dire need of a designated off-road riding area, as off-road users are being denied access to many of the areas where they used to ride. Currently all off-road riding areas in B.C. are in jeopardy.

Adele Tompkins, Executive Director of BCCOM has already been in touch with our "Minister of Motorcycling", Blair Lekstrom, MLA for Peace River South, who is ready to work with us on getting a designated riding area in the Lower Mainland, as well as keeping current areas open throughout the province. BCCOM needs to receive at least 200 letters before Adele will make an appointment to speak with government. Please see information on letters below:

If you want to see changes to the off-road riding climate in BC, YOUR voice needs to be heard! We are asking that people affected by this issue write a letter to your Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), which you can find at http://www.legis.gov.bc.ca/mla/3-1-1.htm expressing your concern about the lack of off-road riding areas available to you and your family. Please note that a handwritten letter holds more weight with government than an email. Key points to include are:

- what you would like to see happen, ie. land designated for off-road usage
- family sport
- what you have invested financially
- what you contribute financially to the communities that you are riding in, ie. food, gas, hotels
- number of voters in your family
- make sure that you include your full name and address in the letter

It is also important that you send a carbon copy of your letter to the following people:
