Brown Mountain ORV, NC

Has anyone ridden the Brown Mountain ORV area. I am going to Hatfield McCoy trails for a few days and thinking about coming back through this area for camping and riding. Any info on the trails and camping areas would be appreciated,RonnieC

Brown Mt is nothing like Hatfield and McCoy but it is a pretty good trail system. There are a couple of bike only loops but most of it is open to goon buggies and bikes. Some are bi-directional as well.

You can camp there but can't ride the bike on the road so if you want to camp in an area where you can ride you better get there very early.

Brown mountain is worth a stop. It has many well maintained trails. The single track loops are a bit rough, but fun to ride. It's like Uwharrie National Forest without all the rocks! :)

It's not bad. I rode with a few people who really know the place and there is some "secret" singletrack to be had. I actually think I'm going up there tommorrow am to ride if anyone is game.
