I am in the market for a different bike. I am 5'09" 165lbs and a fairly aggressive rider. I only ride trails for fun, not competatively. I had a 99 RM125 and loved the weight and handling but it was bad on the steep hills. I then bought an 03 WR250F because it was supposed to be the best. Well I got the lemon of the bunch. Had serious engine probs. at 99 miles and after no help from Yamaha, decided to sell it. I am considering a KDX, I think it might be just what I need. I know it wont be as radical as the RM, but could someone with experience with other bikes put the KDX in perspective for me. I have never ridden one. Also, is there a major power difference between the 200 and the 220. I was leaning towards the 200 or will I be disappointed after the other bikes I have had. Any advice is appreciated.

In trails the KDX is as radical. If I were you I'd go with the 200. It has more top end than a 220. I got a 200 after a RM80 and loved it. Its great for having fun on.

With the proper mods the KDX can be a great woods bike. Check out the FAQ's in the KDX Forum.

My KDX makes much more power off the pipe than my KX125 and about the same power on the pipe. The KDX is much easyer to ride in the woods.

Yes there is a major power difference between a 200 and a 220. The 220 has way more bottom end, the 200 has way, way more high-mid to top end.

You is jus' a little fella so go fer the two hunnert. For me I wish they still built the 400, or maybe even a 750 twin.

I'd be mad before I took a 400 or 750 two stroke into the woods. They would make a nice hill climber though. Anybody care to kick my 750 over just don't break a leg.:)

They need a KDX100 or 150.

Anyway go get a ride on one and try it out if you can.
