I know the focus is a bit soft but I was out riding my bicycle when I shot this and my pulse was at 165 when I saw this and stopped. I was more shakey than normal so 1/100 with an 18-200 lens was probably a bad idea. :bang:

I like the first one, about the only thing I would like to see is since the one burr or whatever the heck it is on the right side is starting to blow out I would like to see both the left and right side burrs blown out with aperature. Looking at the exif though you were likely limited by the lens. Not that any of this has anything to do with your flash :)
You're right Doug, I should have moved to a position that kept the back two bulbs in the same plane so they had the same DOF.
Maybe more like this one.

It's spray paint graffiti on a DOT maintanance box near the airport. I just thought it made a cool background. Unfortunately I was too busy looking at that and didn't pay enough attention to the focal plane. DOOOOHHHHH :)
the background has to go. if you look at the pic i posted of the kiddo, and could compare it to the background i started with, you'd see that i've progressively softened it a LOT. it was shot at f5.6, so it was fairly soft to start with, but just created too much competition with the kid. not that i'm any kind of expert, mind you, but yours came along just as i've been struggling with this other shot for over a week and had some feedback on potn.
