I read in MXA that you can mix brands of pre-mix castor. However, I use semi synthetic pre-mix and don't know if it applies to my situation . . .

I'm using up the rest of my Maxima premix and switching to Yamalube, do I need to clean out the gas tank, carb, etc? Or can I actually mix a a quart of Maxima + pump gas with a gallon of Yamalube + pump gas. How about equal parts?

I have succesfully mixed semi- and full synthetics under dire circumstances,
but if you don't mix them, then you can't have any problems.

I wouldn't mix mineral oils with synthetic, however for a small amount(1/4 tank)I've done it a few times(i.e. - changing oils or run out of my brand and needing to get something else). Mineral oils do not mix well with man made synthetics - the exceptions are man made semi-synthetics.
