canadian bikes,, legal issues.

i see these new bikes on ebay real cheap, im sure they will come out of canada with no title to bypass taxes. but.... I heard its illegal for the owner to haul them on U.S. roads or ride them on public land,,and can only be used on private property. what do you guys think about all that,, id sure like get one of those bikes but i dont want get put in jail or be denied anything down the road. ??
