hi there.

Curious, when ppl overbore the carb, izzit just only on the intake side or do they do both the intake side and the airbox side?

Normally this is done from the back of the carb, (airbox side), to the front of the slide. If you were to bore all the way through the carb, there would be an air gap between your slide and the bore of the carb. Engine would not idle.

What is does is cause more of a 'venturi effect' in the jet mixing area of the carb, without going to a bigger carb.

Of course, this depends on what carb you are refering to and the size of the slide in relation to the bore. Also, some racing carbs are very thin on the spigot side, (mounting side) of the carb and would be too thin if machined all of the way through.
