chain and sprockets?

Hi, I have a 2001 kdx 220. I'm going to be changing out my chain and sprockets. Does any one have any suggestions for gear combinations. I do tight trails with long steep hill climbs.
I was thinking of a 12/47 combo. What size chain would I need for this without breaking links? Any advice would be great. Thanks

12 might be a little tight for the front.

And wouldn't you want something a bit larger in the rear for climbing?

If the budget allows , your better off going to a 13/50 or 13/51

A 12 front is just too tight a radius for the swing arm , ect.
