I did a search and cant find any real information on the differnt types of chains. I see there are non o ring type, the kind you dont want. O ring type and x ring type.

Out of o ring and x ring types what is the better type out of the two?

Ok better question, what type of chain is best for what application?

X ring is less drag then O ring.

Just curious about why you say non O ring is the type you don't want?
Are you doing long trail rides or MX?

O and X ring chains hold up better for conditions that don't allow you to lube your chain often. MX racing is short duration and non O ring chains are best suited for this type of riding.

You are correct.

O ring chains claim to hold more lube in. X ring is an O ring with grooves in the rubber, they have less contact patch and therefor less drag. X ring is a compromise between the two others discussed.

Most durable would be O ring.
