I just changed my gear oil for the first time and I have a questions about checking the oil level. This is for an '03 KX100.

After I drained and filled the tranny to the proper level, I warmed up the bike for a couple of minutes, shut it off and checked the level again and it was high. Is the proper reading taken when the bike is still warm or should I wait a few minutes to cool down? I filled it according to the manual (650ml) but it seems that it might be too much, if I go by the reading when the bike is warm.

Thanks for any tips!!

When checking your oil, you should warm your bike up then after about 5 minutes after you shut the bike off, you should check the oil level. This is how they say to do it in my manual but I usually just check the level when the motor is cold before I ride :ride:
