OK, so I took the other stuff back and exchanged it for NoToil.

Bike came with a Uni Filter, same as:
http://www.frpoffroad.com/catalog/details.aspx?ProdID=26

1) Are the two layers in the Uni filter supposed to be glued together, or seperate? I'm thinking seperate.

2) If seperate, assume apply oil equally to both pieces?

3) Rim grease. Where exactly should I use this? I'm assuming the "filter rim" is the blue foam portion that faces out (in the above FRP picture). There are actually two seperate blue rings, do people apply grease to just the outer one? Can you instead apply the grease to the airbox flange instead of the filter.

thanks

biodegradeable filter oil and cleaners are fine to use , i have just changed on my bike , firstly i fully washed all the old oil out with kerosine, then washed twice in hot soapy water, (dishwashing liquid) then in hot clean water, once all residue was gone i dried off and used the bio oil, if u dont get all the old oil out first before using the bio oil u get a filter that looks like its full of cream cheese.
