OK, I blew the piston on my 94 YZ 125 this weekend. Pulled the cylinder and there was debri in the crankcase. I vacumed it out, blew it out, vacumed again, blew again.....you get the idea.

I am confident I removed any debri, (there wasnt much to begin with, just some fine sparkles) and the crank moves freely....

Question..can I put on the new piston and cylinder and go with it, or do I need to split the case and clean each part. Is there a way I can flush the case for good measure.

I have never split a case before and am not wanting to if I dont need to.

Thanks for the help, I am glad I found this forum.

I've done with no problems but your taking a chance its hard to know for sure if its all out.
Another thing to take into account is the fact its a '94 model and never been split
Put a new top end in it and the rod bearing could go. Then you will have to do the top end again along with the bottom. Not going to cost that much more for a rod kit and main bearings. I think I would do the bottom end while your this close and enjoy lots of riding without thinking about what could go wrong.
