Clutch Adjustment

I just bought an 01 KX250. It had "custom shortened levers", so I bought a set of ASV levers for it. The brake lever went on no problem, I'm having trouble getting the clutch free play adjusted. With the adjuster on the lever screwed all the way in the cable housing is out of the adjuster knob. If I screw the knob out of the lever to the cable housing then I have no free play ( any input on the lever moves the actuator on the engine) And if I turn the bars to the right from center it also starts to move the actuator. What do I need to do?
Any help will be appreciated.

there should be another adjustment in the cabe besides at the lever, you lever is for small adjustments this other one which is usually around the number plate is for major adjustments,
