ok, well my clutch finally wore out. My question is do I have to replace both sets of plates or can I get by keeping the metal ones? They're still within spec and not warped. My dealer said to change them too, but he may just want my money... The bike is a '02 CR 125

Thanks, Thomas

Normally on the Crs its the alloys that wear-not the fibres, maybe the 02 has steel plates now instead of alloys? On previous crs i replaced the alloys with steels and never had to replace the fibres, its important to always check the springs (free length) against the minimum spec in the manual.

you're right, it's the metal ones that are worn they're 1.48mm thick and the serice limit is 1.5mm now I have a question about the fiber plates, is it ok that the fiber plates look "burnt"? (they're black...)

Thanks

Blackish is pretty normal. You can get by with just replacing the plates and fibres that are not close to spec.
However, you are better off in the long run to replace all the plates and fibre discs and springs in one shot.
Replace the clutch cable while you're at it.
