Was forced to use the puller to get the basket off. Did not want to come off at all, but it finally did. Looks like the sleeve has welded itself to the shaft, it's still on. Will try cutting it off with a dremel tool. Working theory is that at the revs this motor was spinning before I got it to stop it just lost lubrication there and got a wee bit too hot.
