comp springs in a honda

I am having problems finding the rate for the little compresion springs in my forks. i have heard from different sources that I should soften these little guys. racing in the desert the stock springs are too hard. what is the stock rate and which springs should i switch to?? Any help is appreciated!

I think it's more of a marketing gimic, but it is a cheaper way to reduce your overall spring rate. Lighter ICS springs will make it easier to cavitate in the cartridge. Especially out in the desert where you are getting some really high speed shaft movements.

If you are just cruising then it might not matter.
