CR 85 3rd gear broken

Hey all,
Turns out the dreaded 3rd gear is broken on our CR 85 (2006), Honda has it back ordered for 2 weeks, anyone have any idaes?
I'm desperate. I have a call into AJ at Service Honda, the motor sits at Eric Gorr's shop awaiting assembly, and we are sitting at home bumming big time!!!!
