CR250 Shock Compatibility

I have done many searches and cannot find the answer I'm looking for. My rear shock on my '90 CR250 is blown, so does anyone know if a shock off of a 1991 CR250 will fit a 1990 CR250? I know that they changed to a Kayaba shock that year and it is supposedly better than a revavled '90 Showa shock. I found that the bushings were different, but what about the length. I found some used ones on E**Y that I can try, but I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction before I waste money if they won't work.

that is a 1 year shock. They are rebuildable. Why not do that????

My compression adjuster is also frozen, so I figured if I need a different shock I might as well get a better one. If I should just get it rebuilt do you have any recommendations?
