I had a crash with another guy today and have a dent in my fork tube, does anyone know where to buy a left fork tube for a 2004 CR85 Expert? And any idea on how much this would cost?
Inner?, i dont think i ruined the inner, its the outer gold anodised one that has a dent in it. Also, i cant seem to find my bike on Service Honda, it only has a CR80 96'-01', and the link to "forks" on it doesnt work
Ok, so me and my dad got around to trying to take my for apart. We got the top of it off, and took the fork spring out. All we have left in the fork is this rod thing, and we also cant get the fork tube, and the slider apart. How do you seperate them?
the dampner rod attaches to the lower tube with a bolt from the bottom of the fork. then the two halve seperate via the slide hammer effect. each grab one half and pull quickly. wham and they pop apart. seems scary but works effectivly.
we tried to get the bolt out of the bottom and dont know what the problem is. We keep trying to loosen it but it wont get any looser. Its just a constant hardness to turn the bolt and it wont loosen? What is causing this?
To keep what from spinning? Is the rod spinning while i turn the bolt on the bottom? What do i need to keep from spinning while i try to loosen the bolt on the bottom? Thanks
while turning the bolt counter clockwise you'll need to pull on it so the dampning rod hits the insdie of the shock and stays in posistion. other than that you can just use an impact.
