today i cased my 2000 modle YZ125 of a metal kicker set at about 15metres. after my ride i got back in and laid the bike on its side to inspect for any damage and i found a crack all the way along one of the welds on the left top engine mount (inside).
Can i weld this with a mig?
my dad is an egineer so he will weld it and hopefull know what he is doing.

But make sure you strip the bike down or you can cause damage to your electrical system and CDI.

This is very important. I had an old cr125 (91) that I got rewelded at one engine bracket. I found only after that I should have unpluged the cdi box. It got fried. It's quite expensive too.

I know it sounds weird, but I might consider just using a torch with some mild steel filler.
Bring your whole area up to cherry red then do a simple fusion+filler.
Let it air cool.
If I only had a stick I would just do a 7014~7018, or in a pinch 6011 dirt rod.
Clean it well, and if you can do a preheat, but OTW, just glob it up and sell it.
I will defer to Ol'89'r advice here though, he be the MAN! :worship:
Someday I'll convince him/you to show me port filling.... :thumb:
