I've got a 1990 kdx 200 that I need to relpace the crank seals. Does anybody know if it's possible to change them without splitting the cases? I've got the tools and experience to do it but like always not the time.: (

you will have take the complete clutch cover off not just the little cover
and also take the fly wheel off and possibly the stator make sure to mark
the stator to put it back right were it came off
where in il do you live

You'll be spliting those cases or cutting the seal retainers out, but I'd split the cases myself.

near galesburg or 30 mi south of the quad cities
i have not changed seals on my kdx like this but i did on
my 1990 yz 250 they make a seal puller to make the job simple
made for automotive but i dont know how it would work on a bike
all in all your crank bearings are most likely loose also so spliting the
case is not a bad idea

Along with the crank seals does any one know if the waterpump seal is the same for new (2000-'02) Kdx200's as older Kdx's(1990)?:think
Thanks again.:silly:
